Origins

Julian was first introduced to musicianship at the age of 7 when learning how to play clarinet for symphonic and marching band settings. Throughout the following years, he gained a large passion and competitiveness for improvement in his skills, joining new groups in competitions throughout central and northern California such as CCBR, WGI, and CVGPC. Learning new instruments, participating in multiple groups, and taking leadership opportunities when they arose taught Julian the significance of practice, self discipline, and “doing your part” to ensure a teams success.

Pursuing this passion of working in teams and being able to perform to audiences, Julian found himself in an entirely new environment and perspective of approaching music, not just as a musician, but as an audio engineer.

New Passions

Attending the University of Silicon Valley, Julian was unsure about potential career opportunities, but the hunger for learning new skills (especially when they alined within his interests of music, and audio technology) encouraged him to pursue a Bachelor’s in Digital Audio Technology.

Constantly absorbing information taught by industry professionals and wanting to gain as many hands on experiences as possible, Julian was able to find multiple opportunities within the audio industry within the first year of him attending USV which allowed him to immediately apply new techniques and ideas into real world applications as he learned them. This combined with countless hours in studios to practice newly learned skills in creative ways propelled his learning from mild hobbyist to professional audio engineer by the time he received his degree.

Current & Future

Even post education, Julian constantly seeks new knowledge, ideas, and techniques to constantly develop new skills by finding creative (yet effective) solutions to problems, and connecting with mentors within the audio industry.

Julian takes great pride in his work and being able to deliver great sounding audio experiences to audiences of all kinds. Whether it’s a group’s musical performance, House of Worship mixing, spoken word, or post production audio treatment, Julian ensures a clean and smooth audio experience.
